I-Tech Incubator: from patent applications to operational businesses

i-Tech Incubator is a business incubation unit that supports new businesses in the biotechnology and engineering sectors. The i-Tech Incubator team picks up where the TTO left off, supporting young "scientist-entrepreneurs" throughout the development of their project:

  • Evaluating market potential

  • Assistance compiling a business plan

  • Forming and/or consolidating a management team and board

  • Setting milestones and monitoring the action plan

  • Supporting the first steps of the business, introducing investors, raising funds, etc.

The new businesses and spin-offs can also find premises within its new building. Opened in April 2012, the building contains 6000m² of labs, white rooms, and office space. With such a broad range of services, new businesses can choose the level of service that suits them best.

Created by the ULB, IGRETEC, Sambrinvest, and the Héraclès Centre in 2010, the incubator provides support to more than 20 companies. The team also works closely with UMONS, Wallonia Biotech Coaching, EEBIC Business Centre, and Theodorus.
