The Department of Applied Mechanics has a threefold function comprising teaching, research and services to the community in the field of hydraulics and heat machines with particular reference to kinetics, dynamics, thermodynamics, thermics and machine components.

Several graduate students from the ULB or from other Belgian or foreign universities are studying for a PhD or a MSc.
