Granivorie et myrmécochorie : impact de la myrmécofaune sur la végétation

Je m'intéresse aux multiples relations qu'entretiennent les fourmis avec la végétation allant de la simple granivorie à un mutualisme. Par leur consommation, les fourmis granivores structurent de la communauté végétale. Les fourmis dispersent également de nombreuses plantes, soit accidentellement par la perte de graines en chemin, soit activement par la myrmécochorie de graines portant des élaiosomes attractifs pour la fourmilière.

Seed predation and dispersal : impact of ant fauna on vegetation

I am interested in the multiple ant-plant interactions that range from simple seed predation to different forms of mutualism. Harvester ants shape the vegetation of their biotope by eating plant diaspores and incidentally loosing their load along foraging trails. In Myrmecochorous plant species, seed are actively dispersed by ants to their nest surrounding while ants benefit form the eating of nutritive elaiosome present on seeds.
