Curriculum Vitae

Benoît Tylleman got his diploma (Licence en Sciences Chimiques) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 2007. The subject of his diploma project was "Synthesis and characterization of 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octakis(alkylsulfonyl)phthalocyanines". Since October 2007, he is a PhD student (FRIA fellow) at the Laboratory of Polymer Chemistry at the ULB.

Research project

For his PhD research, Benoît is focusing on the synthesis of new semi-conducting materials with high charge carrier mobility. This high mobility should be achieved through an innovative concept of two covalently bridged pi-conjugated sub-units. Major challenge in this project is the synthesis of novel extended heteroaromatic systems. At the present time, more details cannot unfortunately be disclosed.

Prizes and Distinctions

Benoît received the Solvay Award for his diploma project accomplished in 2007.
