European Research Council, ERC

The European Research Council's objective is to consolidate the dynamism, creativity, and excellence of research in Europe at the cutting edge of human knowledge. It finances fundamental research projects (Frontier Research), selected from proposals submitted by individual scientists on freely chosen themes, that are then assessed for their level of excellence and appraised by their peers.

Seven ULB scientists received an ERC Starting Grant for scientists at the beginning of their career, and two scientists were awarded ERC Advanced Grants for experienced scientists.
