The HoloFlow project aims to develop and implement innovative 3D imaging digital holographic microscopes to detect, visualize, track and quantify microscopic particles in dynamic environmental fluids, specifically to monitor water quality on-line. Thanks to the use of partial-coherent light sources, the ULB patented technology largely improves the performance of digital holographic microscopy, which a is a decisive advantage for the foreseen commercial activities related to optical sensors for on-line water quality monitoring and in-situ deployment in coastal and marine environments. EHL is in charge of the in-situ system development and applications.
