Biologie des Insectes Sociaux [Biology of Social Insects]
Le comportement collectif et les communications sont étudiées chez les termites et les fourmis. Les comportements sociaux envisagés sont l'approvisionnement du nid et la défense. La division du travail est analysée, ainsi que l'évolution du polymorphisme (en particulier chez les termites). Les relations entre insectes sociaux et insectes parasites inquilins sont aussi envisagées. L'évolution de l'eusocialité fait l'objet d'approches expérimentales et théoriques. Ces recherches sont complétées par des études systématiques de la biodiversité de ces insectes, en particulier en région tropicale.
