L'analyse vise a mettre en évidence l'impact de la situation géopolitique régionale, des facteurs internes tels que la structure institutionnelle et le rapport entre les sphères politique et militaire, et le rôle des leaders politiques sur la prise de décision en politique étrangère dans le système israélien, en particulier pour ce qui est de la possibilité de recours à la force en cas de crise majeure. L'étude approfondie de cas (l'Opération Paix en Galilée en 1982 et la Deuxième Guerre du Liban en 2006.) dans un approche historique couplé avec une connaissance approfondie de la littérature sur les relations internationales et le moyen orient, devrait mener à dévoiler les facteurs qui influencent la prise de décision en politique étrangère. Les conclusions spécifiques aux cas d'étude devraient donc être applicables à d'autres cas et d'autres états. [The analysis aims at verifying the impact of the geopolitical regional situation, internal factors such as institutional structure and the relation among political and military spheres, and the role of the political leaders on the decision-making environment in Israeli foreign policy, in particular concerning the possibility of escalation during major political crisis. The in-depth researches on the two case studies (the Operation Peace for Galilee in 1982 and the Second Lebanon War in 2006), in an historical approach coupled with an extensive knowledge on International Relations theory and Middle-Eastern studies, should allow understanding the factors that influence decisions in Foreign Policy. Conclusion on the case studies should then be generalized and applied to other cases and other States.]
