L'Unité de Droit familial est à la base du vaste projet législatif en cours d'élaboration, tendant à la création en Belgique d'un Tribunal de la famille. Elle a mis en 'uvre un projet pluridisciplinaire relatif à l'étude des familles recomposées. Sur le plan international, il mène un projet de longue haleine avec l'Université de Montréal, traitant du droit familial comparé.
