Submitting and defending your thesis

The thesis is submitted to the Faculty that you are attached to.

On submission, the thesis must be registered in Bictel, the university-wide database of theses. The full text may be added, subject to agreement of the parties concerned. The abstract and table of contents must be added.

Examiners are appointed within one month of submission.

The viva voce examination (thesis defence) is scheduled at least one month and at most two months after the appointment of the examiners. There is generally a private and a public examination. These timescales do not include the period from 15 July to 15 August.

Awarding the degree and examiners' report

Once signed by the members of the faculty examination board, the candidate and the Rector, the degree is awarded, together with the examiners' report.
