A multidisciplinary university

The ULB is a multidisciplinary university renowned for the quality of its teaching and the excellence of its research across the academic spectrum. It has thirteen faculties, schools and institutes, awarding degrees at all levels, from Bachelor to PhD, and offers a large number of continuing education courses. At the ULB, teaching is closely associated with research--basic, applied, or society-driven. Doctoral programs are offered in no fewer than 20 general disciplines, ranging from science and technology, life sciences and health, to social sciences and the humanities.
