The visiting researcher status is intended for international researchers visiting the University for a research stay.

Welcome to the “mobile researcher”

Are you coming to carry out research at the Université libre de Bruxelles? You can count on the Mobility Centre : it is just for you!

Irrespective of what your questions are, through the Centre you will find the right people in our University’s various departments who will be able to provide you support and answer your questions and your special needs about every practical aspect of your arrival at our university.

You will find in the Researcher’s Guide (French version ) all the practical information you will need.

A European portal

In order to improve the visibility of its policy on researcher mobility, the European Commission has a portal known as EURAXESS, which aims to be the reference website for all practical questions: from job offers to finance for studies throughout Europe. EURAXESS is a European network of mobility centres, intended to help the study – research stays of foreign researchers and to address the problems encountered. This network provides not only complete and up to date information, but also individual help on all aspects of professional and daily life in the host country.

A “European Researcher’s Charter”

The European Researcher’s Charter , published by the European Commission, defines the roles, responsibilities and remit of researchers and their employers.

It comes with a Code of Conduct for recruiting researchers, and also sets the framework to be followed in order to ensure the quality of research in Europe.
