Agreements

ULB is linked by over 330 bilateral and multilateral agreements with universities located all over the world and Erasmus mobility agreements for students – doctoral students included – and teaching mobility agreements with many European universities .

Bilateral agreements

Bilateral agreements make existing cooperation with another university in one or more fields official. The agreement is thus a legal framework to support actual activity. It is often a standard document in French or in English that includes:

  • The area/s of cooperation,

  • The length of the agreement

  • the name of the coordinator of activities related to the agreement

Information on drawing up a cooperation agreement

Note: Before commencing the process of signing a convention, it is strongly recommended to contact the person responsible for the geographic area in question in the International Relations Department.

The signing of an agreement does not mean the grant of special financing by ULB. On the contrary, the partners to an agreement are urged to seek financial resources from national and international cooperation or research organisations, emphasising the existence of the agreement.
