The Beat Generation - And its Perception (ECCS 2012 Public Session)
par Theo GEISEL (University of Göttingen )

Even the best musicians cannot play rhythms with perfect precision. Slight deviations from an ideal beat pattern are a fundamental characteristic of music played by humans.
With the help of percussionist Gabriel Laufer, Theo Geisel discusses the statistical laws underlying rhythmic fluctuations and their role in our perception of music.
Based on these findings one can make computer generated music sound more human.
