Malin Tappert joined NUPI as a pre-doc research fellow of the ESDP
Democracy Project in May 2002.
She holds a Master in European Studies from the College of Europe,
Natolin, Poland, where she specialised in European economic integration
and the enlargement process of the EU. She also holds a BA in European
integration from Warsaw School of Economics/ Science Po in Paris.
Malin previously worked at the Swedish Association of Local Authorities
and County Councils in Brussels, where she managed activities such
as conferences and seminars in co-operation with the Swedish Presidency
of the EU. The purpose of the activities was to increase the dialogue
between different political levels and groups on EU-matters. After
this, she participated in an evaluation of the Swedish Presidency
and worked with issues related to the debate on the future of the
European Union.
At the Foreign Ministry in Sweden, Malin was a team member preparing
the Swedish position on institutional questions for the IGC in Nice
2001. She also monitored contacts on institutional matters with
the Swedish Parliament and with one of the COREPER groups in the
Council of Ministers.
As a part of her experience working with EU-affairs, she also undertook
a traineeship with the information section of the EC Delegation
in Oslo.
Malin has also been active as an international youth leader in
youth organisations in Sweden and Central and Eastern Europe, where
she has given lectures and arranged seminars on democracy and conflict
prevention.
