Special entrance requirementsPrivate educationPlease note: Private courses are not affected (see p.20, point 31, §2 of the General Study Regulations EquivalenceIf you graduated from a foreign secondary school and are applying for a Bachelor course, you need to submit a "request for equivalence" (i.e. your diploma is made equivalent to a Belgian qualification) to the appropriate government agency: Service des équivalences de la Communauté française de Belgique. Please note: requests for equivalence must be submitted by 15 July 2012 at the latest. Please note: If you are in possession of a higher education degree obtained abroad and you are applying for a Master course, you may similarly be requested to provide an attest of equivalence for your secondary school diploma, should the faculty selection panel, after checking your application, deem it necessary to admit you to a Bachelor study year. APS certificate for students in possession of a Chinese diplomaStudents in possession of a Chinese diploma and wishing to pursue their higher studies in Europe need to obtain the APS certificate. Belgian students are not concerned. Recognition of working experience(VAE)It is also possible to have your working experience recognised. Admission exam / DAESIf you have no secondary school diploma or if your secondary school diploma is not recognised as being equivalent to a Belgian one, it is possible to take auniversity admission exam. Command of FrenchYou will be asked to take a French language proficiency test for a Bachelor course or for Master courses with a teaching specialisation when your diploma/degree was not issued in French. Engineering science - PolytechTo be admitted to a Bachelor course at the Polytechnical School, you will need to take a special admission exam.
