Non-standard courses (cours isolés)You may, apart from being regularly registered for a set course, also request to be accepted for a non-standard course (cours isolé) This form of registration is open to everyone, and it is not necessary to have graduated to register for such a course. Once the registration form has been downloaded, you will need to indicate the courses you want to take in the table foreseen for this purpose. The maximum number of credits approved for such courses is 14 ECTS (or 15 ECTS, for the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts) per academic year. This figure is the absolute maximum, and no exceptions are made. NB: 1 ECTS is equivalent to about 15 course hours. Approval will be given by the person in charge of each selected course. The form must then be approved by the faculty authorities. It is a good idea to contact the person responsible for the course before submitting the form for validation to the faculty secretary's office. Participation in practical work and exercises is subject to the same conditions. The registration deadline for first-term courses is 15 October, for second-term courses 15 February. The registration fee is set at €27 per credit. Passing exams in a non-standard course does not in any way result in a degree. Passing such exams just leads to your being awarded a pass certificate (Cf. Faculty secretary's office). As regards having the marks obtained in such non-standard courses transferred, it is a good idea to contact the secretary's office of the faculty in question.
