Arnaud Nuyts is Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles where he lectures in comparative private international law, international contracts, international e-commerce and intellectual property, and comparative business law. He is a member of the Research Unit for Private International Law of the same University. Arnaud is also Part-time Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel where he lectures in Private International Law in the English speaking LL.M.

Prior to this project, Arnaud coordinated with Prof. Watté another European project on EC judicial cooperation with third States (the reports of this study are published in International Civil Litigation and Relations with Third Countries, Bruylant, Brussels, 2005). He spent several years undertaking research in England and in the United States, including at Columbia University and Harvard University.

Arnaud is also an attorney-at-law, member of the Brussels Bar where he specializes in international litigation and arbitration and international contracts.

Nikitas HATZIMIHAIL

Nikitas is Senior Researcher at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.He has taught in the U.S., East Asia and Europe.

Nikitas is a member of the Bar of Athens, and currently acts as senior advisor to the Greek Minister for Island Policy. His doctoral dissertation on Pre-Classical Conflict of Laws (Addison-Brown Prize, 2003) is being published by Cambridge University Press.

Katarzyna (Kasia) SZYCHOWSKA

Kasia is Research Fellow at the Univerité Libre de Bruxelles for this project. She is in charge of the background research and of the preparation of the preliminary study.

Andrée PUTTEMANS

Andrée Puttemans is Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles where she lecturer in Commercial Law. She is the Coordinator of the Unit for Economic Law of the Center for Private Law of the same University.

Andrée is an attorney-at-law, member of the Brussels Bar where she specialized in intellectual property, commercial law and unfair commercial practices.

Hakim BOULARBAH

Hakim Boularbah is Assistant Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles where he holds the chair of Procedural Law and lectures on specialized courses. He is also lecturer at the University of Mons. Hakim's research focuses on the development of the European and international law of civil procedure.

Hakim is an attorney-at-law, member of the Brussels Bar, where he specializes in procedural law and international litigation.

Candice BARBE

Candice is assistant lecturer at the Université Libre de Bruxelles where she lectures in private international law and international commercial litigation. She is a member of the Unit for Private International Law of the Center for Private Law of the same university.

Candice's principal areas of study are international insolvency and liability for internet torts.
