R. Devillers


Raymond Devillers is a Professor of computer science at the Département d'Informatique of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. He got a degree in mathematics in 1967, in physics in 1969 and a Ph.D. in computer science in 1974, in the same institution. He teaches operating system internals, languages for parallel applications and object orientation, concurrent systems and computer architecture. He took an active part in the DEMON and CALIBAN European projects. His main contributions concern deadlock avoidance, starvation prevention, concurrency and Petri net theory.
