Call for papers



CONFERENCE AIM AND TOPICS

The purpose of the conference is to share ideas, experiences and information in the following topics:

\(\bullet\)  Shannon theory and applications of information theory,
\(\bullet\)  Multi-user information theory,
\(\bullet\)  Source and channel coding, data compression,
\(\bullet\)  Cryptography and data protection issues, including watermarking,
\(\bullet\)  Quantum information and quantum cryptography,
\(\bullet\)  Audio/video signal processing and compression,
\(\bullet\)  Speech/signal processing, pattern recognition,
\(\bullet\)  Signal detection and estimation,
\(\bullet\)  Ubiquitous communications,
\(\bullet\)  Wired and wireless networks,
\(\bullet\)  Mobile multimedia.

INVITED TALKS

Dieter Gollmann (TU Hamburg-Harburg):
Protocol analysis beyond the Dolev-Yao model
Paul Vitanyi (CWI and University of Amsterdam):
Distortion-rate theory for individual data 
Andreas Winter (University of Bristol):     Quantum resources in information theory


SUBMISSION INFORMATION

The program committee is soliciting papers describing original work. Prospective authors are encouraged to submit one-page summary, including name(s) and address of author(s), by e-mail to it05@ulb.ac.be. Authors of accepted papers will receive instructions for the precise manuscript format. Each accepted paper will have 20 minutes for presentation and discussion. These papers will appear in the symposium's proceedings.


IMPORTANT DATES

Deadline for submission of one-page summary:
February 28th, 2005 
Notification of acceptance:     March 21th, 2005
Camera ready papers due:
April 8th, 2005
Symposium:
May 19th and 20th, 2005
