STRATEGIO : STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME FOR BIOMEDICAL INDUSTRY EXECUTIVES

Scientists who aim to perform management duties are increasingly being called upon to learn new skills. They have the potential to become excellent managers but need to be trained, coached and supported.

It is with these future managers in mind that BioWin, the health competitiveness cluster of Wallonia (Belgium), BIOPARK Charleroi Brussels South and Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management have launched a new intensive executive programme -STRATEGIO.

STRATEGIO is one of six programmes under the umbrella of BioWin’s project, BioPharE, supported by the Government of Wallonia. Its purpose is to develop strong educational platforms in partnership with training specialists to serve BioWin’s members. BioWin has performed various studies and has assessed the skills needed in order to increase efficiency within its membership community. The findings highlighted that partnerships between companies are on the rise as the biotechnology business stakeholders are increasingly receptive to cooperation. This trend is new and is of great importance. The key competencies within cooperative projects are the Scientist-Manager’s ability to implement various technologies, understand financial mechanisms of a project and promote it within the company. STRATEGIO aspires to develop these and other key competencies in the 13-day training, spread over four months.

STRATEGIO is the result of a strong partnership between BioWin, BIOPARK, Solvay Brussels School, Louvain School of Management and HEC School of Management – University of Liège. It is an example of the open innovation and effective partnerships, which BioWin seeks to foster. This project is proudly sponsored by :
