The "Commissariat du Gouvernement aux Etrangers" (Aliens Commissioner) operates under the supervision of the Family Ministry and is responsible for questions related to foreigners, in particular those relating to asylum seekers. It responds to social questions. It is also responsible for updating statistics and for evaluating immigration and asylum policy. It is responsible for elaborating the periodical reports for OECD (SOPEMI report).
