Cristina J. GORTAZAR ROTAECHE is Propius Professor at the Faculty of Law, Universidad Pontificia Comillas of Madrid, Spain. 

At the Universidad Pontificia Comillas of Madrid, she is Professor of Public International Law, European Community Law, Human Rights and Refugees Law.
She is holder of a Jean Monnet Chair on Community Law.
Since 2002, she is Vice-Rector on International Relations and University Extension.

Her principal research areas are Human Rights and Asylum Law, particularly in the European Union.
