This colloquium will deal with the right to free movement of citizens.
The new Directive 2004/38 of April 29, 2004, on the right of citizens of the Union and their family members to move and reside freely within the territory of the Member States codifies the matter and introduces some new elements. It seems useful to examine its provisions one year after its adoption and one year before its transposition in the law of Member States.
The colloquium aims at determining the extent and limits of the rights recognized to citizens and their family members, and to confront them with the situation of foreigners from Third States.
