E.C.S FORUM - ECS WIKIPEDIA

Dear ECS members,

We are delighted to announce the launch of two new web-based initiatives that we hope you will find useful, interesting and educational.

The first is a Forum which has been set up by Norbert Weiss, that provides information about the Society and its events, job opportunities, chat room and much more. To find out more click on http://ecs.xooit.com/index.php. The Forum will enable you to communicate easily with other Society members, and to keep up a regular flow of thoughts, ideas and comments that we hope will serve as a useful adjunct to the biannual Newsletter.

Second, Jacques Haiech has created an ECS entry for Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Calcium_Society). Although the page is still under development, it already provides a fascinating insight into the history of the ECS, which may be familiar reading to those of us of a certain age, but perhaps not to those PhD students who attend our meetings and who would still have been in diapers when the Society was founded. I am sure that I speak for all members of the ECS in extending my warmest thanks to Norbert and Jacques for investing their time and energy in these projects, and look forward to following their further development in the months and years ahead.

With kind regards

Steve Moss
