Additions à la bibliothèque de l'AETFAT en 2000.

Au cours de l'année 2000, la bibliothèque de l'AETFAT a reçu 372 publications ainsi que 364 tirés à part anciens offerts par Mr Hopkins. Mr Verdcourt a également envoyé 160 tirés à part de ses anciens travaux, déjà cités dans les bulletins précédents et non repris ici.

Ces publications ont été introduites dans une banque de données bibliographiques. Celle-ci a permis d'éditer les acquisitions de la bibliothèque de l'AETFAT, donnant au lecteur intéressé la possibilité de trouver rapidement les informations en fonction des trois critères les plus demandés: le pays, la famille taxonomique et la discipline. En conséquence les documents sont présentés en cinq annexes:

Ann.1 Noms d'auteurs: liste exhaustive avec les références complètes de chaque publication.

Ann.2 Périodiques et flores: documents reçus directement d'institutions spécialisées. Ces documents sont souvent repris dans la liste des publications indexées par les noms d'auteurs.

Ann.3 Liste des publications triées par pays.

Ann.4 Liste des publications classées par familles botaniques.

Ann.5 Liste des publications classées par disciplines de recherche.

Rappel concernant le fonctionnement de la bibliothèque de l'AETFAT

Nous rappelons à tous les membres d'avoir l'amabilité d'envoyer un tiré à part de leurs travaux au bibliothécaire. Mention de leurs travaux sera faite dans le prochain bulletin. Sur simple demande, les tirés à part sont expédiés gratuitement en prêts. Un des buts de notre Association est ainsi atteint: tous ceux qui s'intéressent à la flore africaine sont, de ce fait, rapidement au courant de tous les travaux récents et peuvent prendre contact avec leurs auteurs.

Pour une meilleure circulation de l'information les membres qui le souhaitent peuvent communiquer au bibliothécaire (jlejoly@ulb.ac.be) l'adresse du site web où la liste complète de leurs publications africaines peut être consultée. Il en sera fait mention dans le prochain bulletin.

Additions to the AETFAT library for 2000.

During the year 2000, 372 publications have been registered at the AETFAT library. as well as 364 old reprints donated by Hopkins. B. Verdcourt has also send 160 reprints of his work; they are not cited here because they were already cited in the previous Aetfat bulletins.

These publications have been introduced in a data base. This data base allows quick retrieval of the bibliographic information, enabling the taxonomist to select the data according to the three most often requested criteria: selection per author, per country, and per research topic. As a result of this search, the bibliographic items are grouped into 5 annexes:

Ann.1 Author: complete list of publications with complete bibliographical references.

Ann.2 Publications and Floras: documents which have been received directly from the specialised institutions. These documents are also often included in the list of publications per author.

Ann.3 List of publications arranged countrywise.

Ann.4 List of publications classified familywise.

Ann.5 List of publications classified by discipline.

Reminder

We remind all members of the existence of the AETFAT library. They are kindly requested to send one reprint of each of their publications to the librarian. Their publications will be cited in the next AETFAT Bulletin. You are reminded that on request any item of the library will be sent on loan free of charge, although borrowers may have to refund the postage for more expensive freights. One of the aims of our association is thus attained: all those interested in the flora of Africa are in this way rapidly brought up to date regarding all present publications and may contact the authors.
