In December 2015 I received the PhD from the Computer Science department of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). I did my PhD at the Machine Learning Group (MLG) under the supervision of Professor Gianluca Bontempi. You can download my PhD thesis here.
My research focused on Machine Learning techniques for Fraud Detection in electronic transaction. The project in which I worked was called Adaptive real-time machine learning for credit card fraud detection. It was funded by the Doctiris program sponsored by Innoviris and it involved the industrial patner Worldline.
During the PhD I collaborated with the Data, Inference Analytics, and Learning (DIAL) Lab, Prof. Nitesh Chawla's research group at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA and with Prof. Giacomo Boracchi from Dipartimento Elettronica e Informazione, Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy.
After the PhD I left the academic world.
